It is quite simple to manage contacts that you have collected with Loyalistic, but what if you need to import existing contacts to Loyalistic?
You can easily import your existing marketing list or lists to Loyalistic. How to proceed depends whether you want to append to an existing list or create a new list. A list in Loyalistic is always created with and tied to a Honeypot. If you need to create a new list, you need to create a Honeypot. All lists have the same name as their Honeypot.
As a list always exists with a corresponding Honeypot, you also have all the tools of a Honeypot in your disposal. For example, you may trigger nurture emails to all imported contacts. Or choose not to do so. It depends whether it's relevant or not in your case.
Contacts are copy-pasted from a file to a large text box. So you file can be anything you can open. Just copy-paste the records to the text box. Each line is a new record. You may select which character delimits different fields. Comma (,), semicolon (;) or tab are the most common. CSV-files are comma delimited, while Excel-sheets are tab delimited.
Appending to an existing Honeypot list
In some cases, you may want to append contacts to an existing Honeypot, for example, add people who requested your e-book on a tradefair to send your e-book and nurture them. Go to the Honeypot. Click Manage Contacts underneath Import and Export on the right side menu. Click Import Contacts and follow instructions.
When importing contacts, you are asked whether or not to include the important contacts to nurturing. Be prepared to select the right option for your need.
Creating a new list where to import
Create a Honeypot to create a new list. Use name that is descriptive to you. All other settings are unimportant, so go with the defaults. Change "your bait" to nothing, and deselect Email at the thank you -phase. Save.
Now that you are on the normal Honey Pot view, click Click Manage Contacts underneath Import and Export on the right side menu. Click Import Contacts and follow instructions.
When importing contacts, you are asked whether or not to include the important contacts to nurturing. Be prepared to select the right option for your need. If you have not set Nurture program for the Honeypot, the question is then irrelevant.
